There's a saying that goes:
As above, so below
As within, so without
As the soul, so the universe
As you see it, so it shall be
This is ancient scripture from the emerald tablet. It's referring to the law of attraction and how we create our outer world with how we are being internally. This law basically states that whatever belief or thought we hold deep within us, we will see reflected in the world. Whatever we expect or project out into the universe, the universe will reflect back to us.
I recently had to sit with this and let it sink in. We often hear people say "take it easy" and sometimes we don't really know how powerful this statement can be. We sometimes just shrug it off, but really, this simple suggestion can make all the difference in the world. Reflecting back on this past year, I see how much struggle I endured, most of which could've been prevented had I internally shifted my perspective and took life easier. I'm not going to go into detail of what I was experiencing at the time, but suffice to say, it all could've gone a lot more smoothly had I simply been more relaxed about everything and let things flow with ease rather than trying to be a perfectionist or stressing about things that were not even happening in the present moment. When the lockdown happened, at first it was kind of a relief because it felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and I wasn't just on autopilot anymore. As the months went on, especially now looking back, I see how nothing really is worth stressing over, even the things that seem of absolute importance.
Truly, the most important thing in life is inner peace and doing what brings the joy out from us; doing what makes us happy. The rest is only of relevant importance. Even if we are in relatively challenging circumstances, we still have an option. We still have the power of choice; of either seeing things for what they are, internally accepting the temporary circumstances and making the best of it, or making life seem like a struggle. I understand that certain times in our life may be more difficult than others; by no means am I saying that difficulties don't exist. All I'm saying is that a lot of the things we stress over aren't worth stressing about. A lot of the times we take life, and ourselves, very seriously, and it causes so much unnecessary negative energy to be stuck in our aura.
Truly this situation has taught me the ephemeral nature of life, how everything is impermanent and always changing. It's taught me that in this life, doing what we love is the most valuable thing. Sharing moments with those we love is the best way to share our time. Pursuing our dreams with hearts and soul while also being grounded is the secret. Finding a balance between the doing and the being - making sure that whatever we do, comes from a place of joy and love - is what is truly important in life.
